Now that the jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 is out you can unlock your iPhone. Keep in mind that the Ultrasn0w fixer method is very limited and will not work for everyone. Below is a list of basebands that this unlock works for, keep in mind that you should preserve your baseband while upgrading/jailbreaking.
Baseband info can be found in settings > General > About > Modem Firmware

Step 1. Jailbreak your device using our Jailbreak 5.1.1 Tutorial make sure to preserve your baseband.
Step 2. Open cydia go to Manage > Sources > Edit > Add and then type in “http://repo.iparelhos.com”
Step 3. Tap on the repo and then install the Ultrasn0w 5.1.1 Fixer
Step 4. Once installed search for Ultrasn0w and install the package.
Step 5. Make sure you have installed the fixer before the actual Ultrasn0w and that you have a working baseband. If so the unlock should work!
